For those who have been following my story, you know that my path hasn't been a conventional one. After spending 19 years in a completely different industry, I made the life-changing decision at age 61 to leave the familiar behind and pursue art as my full-time work, passion, and purpose.

This painting reflects that personal transition. The deep blues represent the quiet, steady stability of the past, while the vibrant, burning fire represents the sudden spark of creative rebirth and the courage to finally step into my true calling. It is a visual reminder that it is never too late for a miracle, a fresh start, or a new canvas.

To bring this vivid scene to life, I utilized Krita, my absolute favorite open-source digital painting software. Krita allows me to achieve the rich, textured brushstrokes and deep color blending that give this digital piece the soul and depth of a traditional painting.
